The Brooding Young Master Pretends to Be Hypnotized, and His Sweetheart Gets Pregnant

[Mutually faithful + diva + foster care + mildly forced love + wife-chasing showdown] A vain, diva-like female rival versus a brooding, brilliant young master

The night Yan Huan forces herself on the male lead, Jiang Chengli, she awakens.

She’s the selfish, vain villainess in the book.

Her father died because of the Jiang family, and she was raised by them from childhood.

After an accidental pregnancy, she can’t stand gaining weight or having an unloving husband. She makes a scene at every turn, demands shares from her father-in-law, pushes her mother-in-law over, hits and berates her husband, and torments her brother-in-law.

After all that, she cheats and gets an abortion, nearly bringing down the Jiang family, and eventually dies a miserable death.

After awakening, Yan Huan hypnotizes him into forgetting what happened the previous night.

She tests him: “Jiang Chengli, kiss me.”

He obediently does as she asks.

Yan Huan turns around and urges Jiang’s mother to find him a girlfriend.

That night, she receives a photo of the intimate clothing she left behind.

She sneaks in to steal it in the middle of the night, but Jiang Chengli catches her and threatens her with a forceful kiss. “If you find me another girlfriend, I’ll make you cry!”

-

Her birth control unexpectedly fails, and she gets pregnant anyway. Yan Huan plans to secretly give birth overseas.

The plane is stopped.

Yan Huan runs away from the airport.

He climbs onto an overpass and calls her on video, his expression crazed. “Yan Huan, if you dare run away with my child and another man, I’ll kill myself!”

Yan Huan is forced to turn back. She waves her watch around for ages, but he doesn’t react.

Click. Handcuffs snap around her wrist. Jiang Chengli’s voice is dark. “Wife, I’ve caught you!”

Yan Huan is stunned. Did the hypnosis wear off?

“I was pretending the whole time.”

-

After they’re married, Yan Huan straddles him and yanks his hair. “Jiang Chengli, why did you hate me before?”

“I hated you for not loving me. I resented the moon for never shining on me.”

She hits him even harder. “You hated me and resented me, so you’re sleeping on the floor tonight.”

Jiang Chengli’s inner thoughts: My wife is an idiot. She’s never understood just how much I love her.
