A hundred years ago, haunted houses began eating people and wreaking havoc across the world. Supernatural sites that devour living beings have continued to emerge everywhere. The authorities established an investigation bureau, recruiting civilian explorers to confront the paranormal.
The young Pei Wujie stayed behind in his hometown while his parents traveled from one supernatural danger zone to another, rarely coming home. One day, an abandoned shrine appeared out of nowhere in his hometown, and his childhood friends Wang Lin and Chen Yuan dragged him along to explore it.
Outside the ruined shrine, a runaway girl named Ye Shahua unexpectedly joined their group. Two souls inhabit one body: one timid and gentle, the other fierce and fearless.
As the young people step into this deadly ruin, their fates become entangled and collide in the mist of the supernatural site: a hypocritical orphan, a wealthy young lady trapped by her own emotional turmoil, and a young man and woman hiding a betrothal. The echoes of the ancient ruins ring out, and the truth and danger are slowly coming to light.
A very classic Chinese horror style, mixed with weirdness, Taoism, Taoism and other literature searches. The writing style is above average in many books I have read. The story is complicated and confusing, and the events are well connected. I look forward to the author adding three chapters a day!! 🤤🤤🤤
Highly recommend the author of "The Lost Sounds of the Past"! This book is by no means the usual thriller about supernatural beings. The ruined temple, multiple destinies intertwined, and the protagonists with dual souls are so interesting. Adventure and truth go hand in hand, and the Chinese-style mysterious atmosphere is directly full. The author's writing style is very good👍I like it💕
