The Heir Pretends Not to Know Me in Public, So Why Does He Turn Around and Ask for a Kiss?

[Forced love + an aloof beauty falling from her pedestal] [A scheming male lead vs. a timid, sweet girl who pretends to be obedient]

Shen Zhihe got into trouble and broke the birthday gift the Fourth Young Lady had given to the Old Madam.

The Fourth Young Lady seized the chance to get revenge and reported her to her elder brother, Rong Jian ci.

Rong Jianci: “Which cousin? I don't remember.”

The Fourth Young Lady scoffed. “That down-and-out Shen girl, who's shamelessly mooching off our marquis's household.”

She knew this brother of hers was cold and heartless, and hated trouble more than anything.

He didn't even care about his own sisters. Why would he care about an outsider?

He was bound to kick her out!

But...

Once they were alone in the room,

Rong Jianci lifted Shen Zhihe's chin, dark desire swirling in his eyes.

“You have two choices.”

“First, pack your things and get out of the marquis's residence.”

“Second, come to my room tonight.”

Rong Jianci was the legitimate eldest son of the Yongchang Marquis's household, handsome and impeccable in character.

He was remarkably restrained and uninterested in women, with hardly a flaw to be found.

If someone really had to nitpick,

it would be that he was often too unfeeling and far too strict with his younger siblings.

Especially the “cousin young lady” staying at the marquis's residence: Shen Zhihe.

Servants often saw her coming and going from the eldest young master's study.

At night, muffled sobbing could always be heard.

It seemed she was being “punished” rather severely.
