[Passionate little ball of sunshine × aloof, icy academic ace]
"Come on, Jiang Shuchen, how do you even take your exams? How do you get first place every single time?" Shi Muqing flopped onto her desk and wailed in despair.
"With my hands." Jiang Shuchen didn’t even look up. The tip of his pen never paused as he casually tossed out two words.
Shi Muqing: "...Just you wait. Next time, my name will be at the top of the honors list!"
"Oh." At last he looked up at her, his expression cool. "Then solve this difficult physics problem first."
He was as cold as a block of ice, but Shi Muqing refused to be deterred and kept crashing into him. Every day she chattered like a sparrow, bribing him with all kinds of snacks to explain problems. Even when she twisted her ankle at the sports meet and he carried her all the way to the infirmary, she still yelled in his ear, "Jiang Shuchen, your ears are red." He told her to stop talking, but the arm holding her tightened all the same.
Then, on the first day of senior year, Shi Muqing’s seat was empty. Jiang Shuchen stared at the workbook full of mistakes she had worn out from use, as if their two years together had been a dream woven just for him, one that had to end when the time was up.
Six years later, a collaboration brought them together again. This time, he pursued her relentlessly, leaving her no chance to slip away.
