A Great Traitor? No! A Great Scoundrel

Qin Jian transmigrates into the body of Great Xia's youngest Left Chancellor.

Before he can even laugh out loud, one piece of bad news after another comes crashing down on him...

His military authority has been taken away, his pockets are empty, his trusted aide has betrayed him, his fiancee has broken off their engagement, and the emperor will have his head as soon as he returns tomorrow.

Qin Jian: "...Fine."

He decides to live differently.

If he can't be a treacherous minister, then he'll be a shameless one.

Put on the spot at court? He simply admits fault: "You're right, but do you have proof?"

The emperor wants to come after him? He submits a leave request first: "Your servant is ill and can't get out of bed. I request three days off."

His political rivals go to extraordinary lengths to kill him, but every time, he says the same thing: "You're absolutely right. You carry on. I'll head home and get some rest."

Everyone thinks he's putting on an act. Everyone thinks he's plotting some grand scheme. Everyone thinks he's bound to rebel sooner or later.

All he wants is to live to see tomorrow.

And so he lives through one tomorrow, then another, then another.

In the end, the entire court kneels before him, begging him to ascend the throne.

Qin Jian stands on the steps, scratches his head, and says:

"Let whoever wants it take it. I'm not doing it."

Then let's just depose the emperor.
