For three hundred years, no one could see him.

From that day on, they sneaked over walls to eat tofu pudding, kissed three centimeters apart in a movie theater, and made promises at the highest point of a Ferris wheel. The whole world thought she was crazy: smiling at thin air, talking to it, and handing it money.
She said, "It's okay. I'm the only one in the whole world who can see you. That's enough."
On the seventh day, a blade hung an inch above her head.
He fought his way through the entire Road to the Yellow Springs, covered in blood, his mask shattered, and reached out to seize the blade.
His blood dripped onto her face, warm to the touch. For the first time, he had a physical body and a heartbeat.
"You broke the laws of Heaven. All three realms will hunt you down."
"I know."
"Then why did you come?"
"Because you're going to die. I won't let you."
Reading Guide
1. The male lead starts out squatting in corners and muttering to himself, then later fights his way through the Road to the Yellow Springs. The contrast is huge, so buckle up.
It's a bit slow to pick up in the early stages, but it explodes after Chapter 10
