The uncanny descended, and the world fell into ruin.
The survivors studied talismans, formations, and mental interference, trying to use “rules” to fight the “unknowable.”
Only I walked into the restricted zone, where the uncanny were thickest, carrying a roll of bandages and a box of adhesive bandages.
The “Crying Woman’s” sonic blast shattered the glass. I punched her straight into the ground.
The “Man in the Mirror” trapped an entire squad in an illusion. I smashed the mirror, then dragged it out and beat it up.
The “Ruler” issued a divine decree, declaring me an existence “beyond the rules” and advising all uncanny beings to steer clear.
I laughed.
My rule is simple:
If I can hit you, you can’t hurt me.
While everyone else is still studying the uncanny’s weaknesses, I’m already asking: Who’s next?
It's interesting, so I won't be short of books.
