Xie Cun, who graduated from archives, received an unnamed corpse that could not be found on any system on his first day at the Linjiang City Old Archives. The sign on the foot of the corpse is his handwriting: Name saved, time of death tomorrow at midnight.
During the surveillance, he personally delivered the body seven days later; paper files and electronic files gave him two conflicting birth records.
Xie Cun soon discovered that some files were not recording reality, but rewriting it. When enough records determine that a person is dead, access control, photos, friends and even relatives will gradually delete him.
