What do embalmers fear most?
That a corpse will open its eyes on the makeup table.
Shen Qing has worked as an embalmer for three years, and this is the first time he's encountered one. A wedding lock engraved with the character "Shen" is tied around the female corpse's ankle. In Baishui County, the only people surnamed Shen are him and his grandfather, who died five years ago.
His grandfather's journal says: The corpses in Baishui are not clean.
But three days ago, a new line appeared in the journal. The ink was still wet.
The dead can't write. So who wrote those words?
At the bottom of the Baishui River, seven coffins are opening, one by one.
And Shen Qing doesn't know that his name is carved on the seventh coffin.
The writing is very atmospheric and encouraging.
It's full of suspense and I'm looking forward to the follow-up development. Great support from the author.
