Deep Fear: This Taoist Priest Doesn't Believe in Ghosts

[Mild Horror | Infinite Flow | Supernatural | Ensemble Cast | No System]

Zhou Heng was raised in the Daoist tradition. He knows ritual ceremonies and talismans, and he has also studied applied psychology.

After years of driving away evil spirits for people, he is certain of one thing: there are no ghosts in this world.

Possession, spirits knocking at the door, and the dead returning are usually illnesses, hoaxes, or worries the living refuse to acknowledge. Those who need a hospital should go to a hospital; those who need a ritual should have one performed. As long as his clients can get a good night's sleep, he doesn't mind letting the founding master take the credit for a little psychological intervention.

Until one early morning, he pushed open a fire door and stepped into a stairwell in a building that belonged to no city.

A woman trying to retreat to where she had come from had her neck snapped by the shadow stuck to her back, right before everyone's eyes.

Zhou Heng felt that the things he knew might finally be useful. The problem was, he had no idea which of them would help.

(No System, no supernatural powers, no magical duels. The protagonist is just an ordinary person.)
