[Two Female Leads] [Faked Death Goes Wrong] [Intense Push and Pull] [Pretending to Be Prey] [Mutual Salvation]
Shen Nianqiu transmigrates into a book by accident and becomes the vicious wife who torments the aloof heroine, Lin Shuangjiang, day after day in an old-fashioned romance novel.
To avoid being ground to dust by a darkened Lin Shuangjiang, Shen Nianqiu steels herself and launches her "Scumbag Redemption Plan."
By day, she keeps up her spiteful persona. By night, she spends her entire fortune secretly helping Lin Shuangjiang rise to the top again. And to shield her from a deadly ambush, Shen Nianqiu pushes her already frail body to its limit.
At last, the day filming wraps arrives. Shen Nianqiu sets fire to the villa at just the right moment, planning to make a perfect escape by faking her death in the towering flames and set the nightingale free to fly toward the awards stage.
But as she chokes on smoke and crawls out of the secret passage, a beam of stark white headlights blocks her way.
Lin Shuangjiang, who should have been crowned at the awards ceremony, has been waiting here for a long time. Sitting in a wheelchair, the aloof and ethereal woman toys with a silver lighter still warm from the flames, smiling with obsessive, sickening delight.
Lin Shuangjiang brushes the ash from Shen Nianqiu's hair and points to the pure-gold cage already built behind her. Her voice is bewitching: "Nianqiu, had enough fun?"
"You were the one who came after me first. The fire was beautiful, but since you gave me light, even your ashes can only belong to me."
A chill runs through Shen Nianqiu. Only now does she realize: there was never any helpless, aloof little flower. She is a mad, hungry wolf, closing in step by step, with a trap laid out long ago just to lure Shen Nianqiu into it!
