[Cthulhu Mythos + supernatural events + suspense + ghost hunting + the underworld]
The underworld has fallen into slumber, and the reincarnation system has collapsed.
Ghosts run rampant through the night, and strange entities wreak havoc everywhere.
Chen Jing, a college senior looking for an internship, is captured by men in black and taken to be sacrificed. As he faces death, he obtains a phone book from the underworld that lets him contact various deities of the dead.
Chen Jing speaks the code phrase, and the Black and White Impermanence and the Day and Night Patrol Gods all appear to capture evil ghosts and guide good ones to the afterlife.
He only planned to join the 749 Bureau for two reasons: a secure job, and a chance to figure out what was going on with the ancient book in his mind.
Who could have guessed that, after Chen Jing got caught up in one strange event after another, the truth about the world would slowly begin to emerge?
PS: The story has a complete outline and is a complete story. The synopsis doesn’t do it justice, so please head to the main text.
