The Transmigrated Judge: I Demand Harsher Sentences Under the Law

[Legal Suspense] [Parallel World] [Evidence-Based Trials] [Institutional Growth] [Subtle Romance]

Seven days after sentencing a criminal who had trafficked nine children to death, thirty-eight-year-old criminal judge Ji Heng dies in a sudden car accident.

When he opens his eyes again, he has become the twenty-three-year-old heir to the Ji family in a parallel world. His grandfather is a leading authority in legal studies, his father runs an industrial conglomerate, and his mother takes part in legislative consultations. Everyone thinks he can use the Ji family's connections to rise straight to the top.

But Ji Heng starts over by taking the civil service recruitment exam, beginning as a judge's assistant.

A child goes missing for sixteen years. Everyone knows who took them, but because the purpose of selling them cannot be proven, the culprit can only be sentenced to five years;

A father searches on his motorcycle for twenty-two years. When he finally finds his son, the boy refuses to return to his hometown and won't even call him Dad;

A birth certificate with an authentic serial number, seal, and signature, yet no actual birth ever took place.

Public opinion demands a harsh sentence, the families want answers, and vested interests want the investigation stopped. Time and again, Ji Heng pushes his angriest conclusions back behind the evidence:

"I want a harsher sentence under the law, not illegal revenge."

From an old case to a chain laundering the identities of children; from a proposed legal amendment sent back for revision to a system that can respond immediately when someone goes missing.

In this life, he wants to do more than hand down a severe sentence.

He wants to make sure the next child won't have to wait sixteen or twenty-two years for a chance to come home.
