Five years ago, on the eve of an esports grand final, two “disconnect incidents” took place at the same time. Two pawns were moved: one young player pretended to be blind for five years, while the other bided his time in silence. Five years later, Shen Tang and Lin Zhi each enter the world of one of those men. One chooses “confrontation, then cooperation”; the other, “play along, then turn the tables.” They had never met, yet while investigating, they discover that their mothers joined forces twenty years ago to pursue the very same crime. When two old photographs are pieced together, the women realize their bloodlines were never severed: each is the other's final piece on the board. Above the board, the four pawns will eventually stand side by side. Below it, the one who will overturn everything has long since gone from being manipulated to becoming the player moving the pieces.
This is one of the better logic books I read after the college entrance examination. It contains both emotional changes and logical lines.
