Lu Wanning, a junior medical official in the Celestial Court, was punished for her misdeeds by being sent down to the mortal realm to undergo tribulations. This time, she became the heir's wife in Prince Ping's manor in Northern Zhou. But the old King of Hell had promised her a handsome 1.85-meter-tall war god, and the man she got instead was covered in poisonous sores and confined to a wheelchair. Using her medical skills, Lu Wanning cures the heir's poisoning and leg disability, joins forces with him to punish his vicious maternal uncle's family, helps the little ghost He Chunhua fulfill her final wish and save her family, and breaks a century-old curse for Zhao Yu, the young master of a money house. She also buys back the prince's manor and takes in orphans. Along the way, she and the heir gradually fall in love.
