Fallen Immortal: Empty Spiritual Root, Hunted from the Start

"An empty spirit root can hold everything it was never meant to hold."

I transmigrated. I had an empty spirit root, was born at the Foundation Platform Realm, and a white cloud crane came bearing jade.

Everyone said I was the greatest hope the Qian family had seen in centuries. Then the testing stone exploded in front of me, and my soul shattered. When I came back to life, I had barely a breath left and was covered in cracks.

There is a rule in the cultivation world: geniuses with incredible talent and no powerful backer are either stolen away or destroyed.

The Taiyi Sect coveted my empty spirit root, and a Spirit Nurturing Realm cultivator chased me for three thousand li. There were more eyes in the forbidden grounds than living people I'd ever seen, and more dried corpses beneath the blood pool than stones in a mine. They wanted to refine me, eat me, and use me to make pills.

But I have an empty spirit root. Empty, so it can hold everything they give me: pain, fear, and the scraps I tear from them every time I come close to death.

They all want me dead. Then I'll live and show them. And as I keep living, I'll become the thing they fear most.
