Shen Yan, a former criminal psychology consultant who was convicted of using seven conversations to force seven people to death, was thrown into the "Public Trial City" before the execution. He had to find out the cause and effect of the tampering from the criminals unanimously recognized by the city; but as he cleared the charges in each city, all the evidence began to point to him as the final criminal sought by the trial system.
