[Daytime Soul Requiem, Twelve Haunted Streets]

This is an ancient neighborhood whose layout keeps changing according to the positions of the twelve stars. The city gates open by day and close at night. The streets and alleys beyond them are rearranged every day, their shop doors left ajar as gray fog rolls through. When the sky lanterns shine, vengeful spirits lie dormant; when they go out, shadow wraiths patrol the streets.

Survivors must occupy shops, resolve the vengeful spirits' grievances, and pay spirit pearls on time to secure a sliver of room to survive. Shopkeepers control territory, while day laborers trade work for shelter. Some keep their word; others devour people.

With the discerning eye of a book restorer, Lin Ye gradually realizes that Soul Street is no ordinary haunted street. Its twelve sections correspond to the twelve hexagrams of waning and waxing. The shifting stars determine the layout of the streets, and the sky lanterns are actually the array's core. It is all connected to the Twelve-Star Demon-Suppressing Formation left behind by the gods before they vanished a thousand years ago.
