[1v1, mutually devoted, transmigrate into a book, raising a pet, pseudo-siblings, love grows over time, comedic early-stage mystery solving | amnesia and angst-filled romance in the middle | a god going all out to win her back in the later stages] Shi Wei pinched the bridge of her nose and gazed at the boy clinging to her with a look of utter despair.
“I finally transmigrated into a book as a rabbit demon on Qinglan Mountain. I wasn’t cut out for cultivation, so I just wanted to lie flat, eat my fill, and bask in the sun. Life was lovely, right?”
Cang Xuan gently tugged at her sleeve, his voice soft.
“Mm.”
Shi Wei gritted her teeth and complained.
“And all because I picked you up, this little black furball, on a stormy night! Now I’m running all over the place looking for fragments, and there’s even a bizarre heart-digging murder case in town! Be honest, are you some kind of jinx sent to make my life miserable?”
Cang Xuan gazed at her with clear, aggrieved eyes.
“I just want to stay by Big Sister’s side.”
Shi Wei: “...Forget it. You’re so good, I can’t even stay mad at you.”
Lin Wan, an overworked office drone, transmigrates as a good-for-nothing rabbit demon with pitifully weak cultivation. She plans to retire in the mountains, but one heavy rain leads her to rescue a little black civet named Shi Yu, and she discovers that the soul of a fallen War God is hidden inside him. To help him reclaim his soul, the two set out together to find the fragments of the fallen god.
Murder cases plague the human realm, and the fragments are wreaking havoc with their wicked energy. Along the way, the Snake Lord Bai Zhe invites her to investigate, while the aloof cultivator Su Qingci keeps crossing her path. Amid all their bickering, the innocent Shi Yu has already fallen for her.
The Heavenly Emperor fears the War God and unleashes a catastrophe. At the critical moment, Shi Yu sacrifices his divine soul to protect her. But the Heavenly Dao erases Shi Wei’s memories, and she mistakenly believes Su Qingci is the one she loves.
The War God bears the torment of his memories alone. When chaos in the Demon Realm tears apart space and time, Shi Wei falls into the cycle of reincarnation to undergo a tribulation. He gives up his divine authority and follows her through life and death. After enduring a hundred lifetimes of trials, the god gives all his love to his little rabbit alone.
Super nice, funny light comedy
