In 1939, Wang Shan came to the war-torn northwest of Shanxi and became a platoon leader in the grassroots unit of the Eighth Route Army, and received a special growth boost.
Facing the situation of insufficient equipment and complex enemy situation, he did not just rely on courage to fight head-on. Instead, he started from reconnaissance, capture, training and battlefield review to gradually improve the combat effectiveness of the troops.
From leading a small platoon of dozens of people to independently commanding a battalion of hundreds of people; from assisting the regiment leader in judging fighter aircraft to growing into a staff commander capable of coordinating the overall situation, Wang Shan gradually blazed a military path of his own.
