This is the second book in the Rongcheng Investigation Files series. The cases are all standalone, so you can read this one without having read the first. The narrative style is the same as in book one, and it may still drag a little. A brief introduction: The male lead was married before, so if that's not your thing, you may want to skip this. The female lead breaks free from her family, and there is a ten-year age gap. The two overcome the obstacles in their hearts and get together. The previous book ended with the male lead proposing and being rejected.
Simply put, this is a novel about a group of people working together to solve cases. Love and hate intertwine. People commit crimes for family, love, or profit. Some are both victims and perpetrators. Some are perpetrators and victims alike. The world has never been divided neatly into black and white.
It's just disappointing that there are no multiplayer sounds.
