Synopsis

Sixty-six million years ago, the meteor never fell. The dinosaurs multiplied, evolved, and awakened, breathing thunder and beating their wings to summon the wind.

Ten thousand years ago, the ancestors who had lost their home fell onto this world, which they called Blue Star, only to discover that their bodies could not contain even a fraction of its energy.

Then the first dragon pact was forged. Humans used dragons as a bridge, while dinosaurs used humans as eyes. The two civilizations helped one another flourish, ushering in an era of great development.

At his pact ceremony, the boy Long Ye was branded a once-in-a-century "hollow seal, useless pact." Yet he formed the world's most ancient bondmark with a little dinosaur everyone looked down on.

He did not yet know that this mark was connected to the ancestors' lost starship, to the "Source Tide" that awakened periodically, and to the eyes now tracing their way here, the same eyes that had destroyed humanity's homeworld.

Beast-Taming Stories Have Fallen Off, It's All on the Old Classics Now

Please recommend some new beast-taming novels, preferably ones published this year. The recommendation lists keep cycling through the same few titles, and I have barely seen any from this year. I have already read last year's books, and hardly any suited my tastes. I am surviving by rereading Charm of the Soul.
