Women in the Hellish Caves of Northern Myanmar

In the compounds of northern Myanmar, performance determines whether you live or die.

Electric shocks, beatings, branding irons, fingernail extraction, water torture, solitary confinement, live burial, drowning, dumping bodies, control through drug addiction, psychological torture, brainwashing, salt rubbed into wounds, dark rooms, blood slaves, livestreams, and more!

These inhuman methods of control happen every day.

I watched one companion after another get sent to the compounds' "medical center," a place more terrifying than death, for failing to meet their quotas in pig-butchering scams, investment fraud, romance scams, and other telecom scams.

I saw my best friend die in the dark room next door. I saw a dutiful daughter have her plea for help cut off by her own father. I saw the top salesperson, once number one in performance, reduced overnight to a number put up for public auction.

This place is rife with high-salary lures, cross-border e-commerce, fake job offers, extortion, kidnappings and murder, organ trafficking, drug dealing, forced prostitution...
