Fuyuki City, the Fifth Holy Grail War.

Zhao Ling, a genius magus who defected from the Clock Tower, has come for a purpose known to no one. He wants no Holy Grail and seeks no miracle. He only wants to use this two-hundred-year-old ritual to see for himself whether the thing all magi call the “Root” truly exists beyond the world. For this, he summons the King.

The oldest King of Heroes, Gilgamesh, descends in the guise of the Wise King. Neither mad nor cruel, he looks down upon all beings and sees through the nature of the Holy Grail System.

“Your wish, I shall make note of it for now.”
