Xiao Yaya is hiding a secret: her old purse is actually a passageway to the modern world. At first, she can barely fill her stomach with half a marinated egg she found, but later she learns that ordinary wild vegetables from the mountains are worth a fortune on the other side. Carrying a little bamboo basket on her back, she travels between the past and present, slowly making a living through barter. From going hungry and never knowing what tomorrow will bring, to filling her granary and seeing smoke rise from her little courtyard every day. The green mountains remain, poverty fades away, and her quiet life gradually fills with warmth.
