Zhou Ye, known in the consulting world as an “enterprise doctor,” chokes to death on a drink at a victory banquet and wakes up in the underworld.
The underworld is on the verge of collapse. The number of dead souls has increased tenfold, but its staffing levels haven't changed in a thousand years. Each of the Ten Kings of Hell runs their own department and passes the buck, the Bridge of Helplessness is jammed like a parking lot, the Virtue System keeps miscalculating, and the Heavenly Dao has already issued three warnings.
After driving away eight chief administrators, the King of Hell hauls Zhou Ye in as the ninth: do a good job and your lifespan will be restored; mess up and you'll be tossed into the boiling oil.
Zhou Ye grins. “Turning companies around is my specialty. The underworld?”
“Then I'll start with the Palace of King Qin Guang. One stroke, and it's done.”
