When Lu Che, a night shift delivery boy, was tricked to the point where he couldn't hold on anymore, he accidentally saw some of the city's rules.
Red lights, orders, queues, access control, priorities, each one can be slightly rewritten.
Others rely on connections to get stuck, but he relies on changing the rules to turn things around. Others wanted to keep him at the bottom, but he easily lifted a corner of the city's default order.
He originally just wanted to make more money and suffer less. Only later did I realize that what I was doing was not a takeout order, but the invisible underlying logic of the city.
