The protagonist, Lin Yao, was originally sent down from the Upper Realm to undergo a tribulation. The lower realm was short on spiritual energy, and the final lightning tribulation split her soul into three. One fragment traveled through a temporal rift to the apocalypse, another passed through a spatial rift to another world, and the remaining fragment, severely depleted of energy, was reborn as a rural girl in the 1970s. The missing parts of her soul left her intelligence in a constant state of confusion, making her intellectually disabled. Though foolish, she was dearly loved. An accident brought her other soul fragments to transmigrate into her, and the three parts of her soul merged. From then on, the world had a god among its people, turning the tide in this famine-stricken era.
