Preface
When I was young, I was always unwilling to be mediocre and wanted to find a way to make a quick turnaround.
I heard that high-paying jobs abroad were easy, stable, and the income was considerable. I became greedy, took a chance, ignored all warnings, and believed in the promises of strangers. I hid the truth from my family and followed the guide for thousands of miles, passing through secret border trails, naively thinking that there was an opportunity to change my destiny.
But the moment we crossed the border, all illusions were shattered.
There are no high-paying jobs here, no stable life, only a lawless and disorderly place and a cannibalistic prison. Towering walls are wrapped with dense barbed wire, and guards with live ammunition patrol day and night. Cold control and endless coercion are the only normalcy here.
I was trapped in the land of northern Myanmar and survived three years of darkness.
In this chaotic and dilapidated old street, I witnessed with my own eyes the complete distortion of human nature. Deception and plunder can be seen everywhere, the weak are bullied wantonly, and those who resist will pay a heavy price. Countless people came with beautiful dreams, but in the end they were left with endless struggle and despair. Some people knelt down and begged for mercy, while others quietly disappeared and never returned to their hometown.
All innocence and kindness were crushed here, and it also allowed me to see clearly the darkest corners of the world.
I tried my best to escape from the prison and returned to this old street full of blood and tears.
