Little Lucky Star Reports for Duty: I Brought Uncle Hero Home

The day five-and-a-half-year-old Shen Xinghe was taken home by her grandmother, she was clutching an old tin box.

There was no candy inside, only a yellowed photograph and a single sentence:

"Child, please tell my family that I've come home."

From that day on, Shen Xinghe could hear the voices inside old objects and see those who had never made it home.

A rusty button led her to a brother who had been separated from his family for seventy years.

An unsent letter home finally brought a belated message of safety to a martyr's mother.

An old watch revealed the secret her father had kept his whole life.

A faded red flag inspired millions of online viewers to light the way home for an unknown hero.

The little girl can't solve crimes, and she doesn't understand big ideas.

She only knows that the uncles miss home, and the grandmas are still waiting.

Later, Shen Xinghe made a small wish:

"I want to bring everyone who hasn't made it home back to their families."

About the heroine:

Shen Xinghe is five and a half, nicknamed "Little Lucky Star."

She can hear the last words inside old objects, see people missing from photographs, and tell who truly cares for her just by sharing a piece of candy.

She's timid and afraid of thunder, the dark, and sleeping alone.

But whenever someone says, "I want to go home," she hugs her little backpack tight and nods earnestly. "Don't be afraid. I'll take you back."

"Don't be afraid. I'll take you back."

And the man who is always silently by her side, Lu Chenchuan, also finds his way back to the home he lost long ago, with each person they help say goodbye.
