The Lu Clan of Cultivators

Across the vast Canglan Sea, ten thousand acres of blue waves surged. Between the sea of clouds and the rolling waves, a dark-ink-colored immortal island floated in silence. The island was broad in the east and narrow in the west. Viewed from high above, it resembled a dark-ink-colored spirit clam half-submerged in the Canglan Sea, and so it was named Mo Bei Islet. Profound qi lingered across the island without dispersing, while thousand-year-old trees and strange spirit plants formed layer upon layer of emerald green, their dense shade blocking out the sky. Cultivation compounds, scattered along the mountain slopes, stretched for dozens of miles. Between the peculiar peaks, spiritual lights drifted day and night like fireflies. Auspicious qi rose from the spirit springs, while halls with upturned eaves pierced the layers of cloud, their corners entwined with seven-colored rosy clouds that never faded. Flocks of snow-feathered spirit gulls circled through the heavens, their clear cries piercing the skies. Legend held that these were guardian spirit birds personally transformed and guided here by the Lu family's first ancestor. Generation after generation, they had guarded the clan's territory and never left the island. Outsiders knew only that this was an immortal island isolated from the world, but few knew that it was the ancestral homeland and foundation of the Lu family, an old-established cultivation clan in the Canglan Sea. Through seven hundred years of the clan's rise and fall, countless joys and sorrows, separations and reunions, opportunities along the path of cultivation, had all originated and circulated from this island. Yet at this very moment, no one could have foreseen that a young man from a collateral branch of the clan, whose cultivation was only at the fourth layer of Spirit Tempering, was about to ride the waves out from here and stir up the winds and clouds across the entire Canglan Sea.
