Two days had passed, and there was still no news. The few of us were frantic with worry, but Ma Yuanyuan seemed perfectly calm, as if nothing had happened. I said to Ma Teng, "Chief Ma, stay home and wait for news. I'll go out and look around." Ma Yuanyuan said, "Darling, let me come with you!" I nodded. "All right."
A strange aura hit us as soon as we entered. Ma Yuanyuan and I cautiously made our way inside. The room was a mess, as if there had been a fight. There were several suspicious bloodstains on the floor, and my heart clenched. Ma Yuanyuan crouched down to examine them closely. Suddenly, her eyes lit up, and she picked a note up off the floor. A string of numbers was scrawled on it. I leaned over and asked with a frown, "What is this?" Ma Yuanyuan thought for a moment. "Maybe Tang Xiaoning left us a clue." We continued searching the room and found a slashed-open backpack under the bed, its contents scattered beside it. Ma Yuanyuan found another note in one of its pockets. It read: "Warehouse No. 1, Dongping Road." She handed it to me. As soon as I read it, I hurried with Ma Yuanyuan to Warehouse No. 1 on Dongping Road.
Warehouse No. 1 on Dongping Road looked as though it had been there for years. Its gates were shut tight, and a note reading "No Trespassing" was posted on them, as if warning people to stay away.
