Great Ming: My Imperial Brother Was Captured, and the Entire Court Begged Me to Take the Throne

In the fourteenth year of the Zhengtong reign, the Tumu Crisis erupts.

The Ming's five hundred thousand elite troops are wiped out, and Emperor Zhu Qizhen is captured, becoming a student abroad in Oirat territory!

An army of foreign invaders reaches the gates of Beijing, and the Ming Dynasty is in mortal danger.

Empress Dowager Sun and the court officials panic. To find a scapegoat, they install the "useless prince," Zhu Qifeng, notorious for spending his days farming, as regent.

"Your Highness, the Ming Dynasty is counting on you!"

Zhu Qifeng can only sneer inwardly: The entire Ming imperial clan is a bunch of pigs who do nothing but eat and wait to die? Sorry, I'm done pretending!

I just wanted to stay in my fief and develop industry. You're the ones who insisted on forcing me to act.

As the Oirat cavalry charges arrogantly, intent on trampling the capital, Zhu Qifeng silently brings out the invincible army he has secretly built over the years, along with rows of heavy muskets and cannons.

When the smoke clears, the Oirat army has been wiped out, and its leader, Esen, kneels and begs for mercy.

The court officials, watching the prince who swept across the steppe, tremble in fear: "Your Highness, the Oirat are finished. Should we bring back the Retired Emperor?"

Draped in a yellow robe, Zhu Qifeng sits on the dragon throne in the Hall of Supreme Harmony and looks down at the assembled officials:

"Since my elder brother likes studying abroad, let him stay on the steppe and herd sheep forever."

"As for me? All I ever wanted was to be an idle prince."
