[Mystery] + [Wild Imagination] + [Wits and Strategy] + [Pure Romance] + [Ensemble Cast] + [Everyday Life]
Xu Cheng stumbles into a netherworld game of karma, where he glimpses one cruel truth after another behind the curtain.
At the cost of being stranded in the mortal realm for all eternity, he signs a soul pact and becomes the hell fox spirit’s soul servant, all to retrieve the soul of a girl who died in the game.
Reborn, the girl is given the name Nian Hua by the fox spirit.
From then on, Xu Cheng and Nian Hua travel from one deadly game of hell to the next, gathering the souls of the dead for the fox spirit and cultivating flowers of the other shore. Along the way, they slowly uncover the truth behind Xu Cheng’s own death.
Within these hellish games, human hearts are treacherous, ghosts and monsters lurk everywhere, and every visitor at the door has their own agenda. Each choice puts the survival of their souls on the line.
Yet Xu Cheng always manages to seize every crucial clue, plan several steps ahead, and calmly break through deadly predicaments.
And the fox spirit, cold and heartless in the eyes of the world, always comes to their rescue when the two are trapped with no way out, even at the cost of its own power.
Beneath the icy contract, a bond spanning the divide between life and death quietly takes root.
“Everyone fears the eerie games of the netherworld. But who knows that what traps us has never been the ghosts and monsters, but the obsessions hidden in our souls?”
