Ji Xingmian transmigrates into a tragic novel as a doomed minor character. The System orders her to follow the original plot and die with the male lead Shen Yan's sword through her heart.
She doesn't want to die, so she pours out the poison and promptly defects to the villain's side.
The villain says, "Fine, you can stay and write my weekly reports. Keep an eye on Shen Yan for me."
From then on, she makes medicine for the male lead by day and writes weekly reports for the villain by night.
The report: "Daily Monitoring Report on the Male Lead's Corruption Level."
Later, Shen Yan pins her in a corner, his voice low and frenzied:
"You write about me? Write one more line and I'll break your legs."
Ji Xingmian: "Does that count as a workplace injury?"
The System: "No."
The villain: "Yes, but I'll deduct it from your pay."
