Zhiyu is a Star God, yet was born unable to wield the power of star energy. Bearing the title of Star God, he lives under the mockery of those at the bottom. Tired of the red tape and class prejudice in the capital, he leaves his homeland and meets young men and women from all walks of life.
Noble conspiracies, secret collusion with Soul Gods, and the buried past of the old revolutionary army gradually come to light beneath the clamor of Saiao. Some bear the shackles of their families, some carry the last wishes of departed friends, and some are sick of the Central Authority's tyranny.
The smoke of martial contests is only the beginning. Leaving Saiao, passing through Kunyu Manor, and crossing the Wamata Desert, Zhiyu learns more and more about the true world and leaves his mark upon it.
When the fires of the old era flare up once more, this young wanderer who refuses to bow to fate must forge his own path in a turbulent age where gods, nobles, Soul Gods, and countless other powers vie for control.
