Mu Rong, the world's number-one assassin, codename Queen of Clubs, is 21 and the undisputed heir to the Xizhou Group.
She's rich, beautiful, armed, talented, and has a mouth that could kill on the spot.
After being left speechless for the 28,642nd time, her master, Mr. Clown, finally loses patience. He bundles up this troublemaking little demon and dumps her in Huaguo, where her third senior sister, an assassin by trade and a Best Actress on the side, is supposed to straighten her out.
Her third senior sister has been looking for someone to join her on a survival variety show, so she casually drags Mu Rong in front of the cameras.
On the show, she goes by the title of Xizhou's CEO while dismantling props, roasting the other guests, and wrecking the rules of the competition. It takes less than half a season for the comments to go from "aloof CEO" to "..."
Qi Linzhi is a three-time major award-winning actor from a prestigious family, the cool and refined young gentleman in his fans' eyes. On camera, he's a gentle, restrained top-tier star. Off camera, his background is a mystery, and no one in the industry can say where he really comes from.
He joins the show of his own accord. The production team is overjoyed, and viewers flood the screen with excited comments. Her third senior sister is on high alert, but Mu Rong doesn't give it a second thought. She assumes he's just a handsome passerby.
It isn't until the first time in her life that someone manages to silence her with an equally poisonous mouth that the audience starts shipping them as the "Toxic" couple, and she realizes something is off about him.
One night, Mu Rong takes care of a group of assassins attacking the show camp. When she turns around, she sees Qi Linzhi leaning against a tree, twirling a military knife in his hand.
From then on, one of them causes trouble while the other cleans up.
Except...
Within Huaguo's borders, obey the law.
