I Deliver Babies for the Dead

This isn't a novel. It's my life, the things I go through every day.

My name is Chen Chuyi. I was born on the first day of the Lunar New Year, cut from my mother's dead womb.

The day my father died, the whole village stopped me from retrieving his body. Later, I learned a trade: delivering the dead.
