Tong Fengquan (Zhang Guoli), proprietor of the Fangu Hall, is an antique dealer skilled at making old items look aged and restoring damaged antiques. But this trade is full of scams and losses, and even someone as shrewd as Tong cannot escape being set up and caught in a cycle of mutual betrayal. A three-legged Ru ware box brings down two antique shops and even results in a death, leaving Tong penniless and with nothing.
