Reba: Are You Really a Nobody and Not Born for Variety Shows?

[Big Shot] [Feel-Good Read] [Ruling the Entertainment World] [One Female Lead: Dilraba]

Variety shows in this world are remarkably consistent: the scripts are consistent, the punchlines are consistent, and the awkwardness is consistent too.

That is, until a wealthy country boy with no desire to make his debut is suddenly dragged in to replace a contestant who ran away.

Gu Yan: “I'm only here to make the show entertaining. Nothing else.”

Then he calls something “crude” and turns the idiom chain game upside down. He takes a “dragon fruit” and turns a science riddle into an epic fantasy production.

He designs Who's the Undercover, and five contestants start suspecting one another as viewers across the internet get completely hooked.

He sings original songs no one has ever heard before, and professional singers stay up all night posting requests to collaborate.

Dilraba: “You look like the male lead in a romance drama. Why is all you ever say crosstalk?”

Gu Yan: “Because being handsome alone doesn't make good variety TV.” (He sneers.)

Director: “What else can you do?”

Gu Yan: “For now, just a tiny little bit.”

From variety shows to music, from short videos to screenplays, he brings one classic after another from his previous life into this world.

Traffic stars start copying his humor, and production teams start rewriting the rules of variety TV.

But when Gu Yan unveils his first real film, everyone finally understands:

Variety shows were just his appetizer. This entertainment revolution has only just begun!
