Lianjiang Old Dream

Most of the characters are introduced in Chapters 1-5, and a small part introduces the background of the story. Chapter 6 slowly enters the main line of the story. The first 13 chapters are relatively boring, because it is the first time for the author to write a book, so please be considerate. On the bank of the Lianjiang River in northern Guangdong, the old Wei town of Hanwen hid all the joy of my boyhood. Here I met the girl I thought I could spend the rest of my life with. The old street arcades, the mottled brick walls of the Guangzhou Guild Hall, and the evening breeze by the riverside all witnessed our passionate and short-lived love. But this relationship was ruined by my recklessness, naivety and lack of appreciation. I messed up everything with my own hands, and in the end I could only wave goodbye to her in regret. Since then, I have often woken up during stormy nights. The rumbling thunder shattered the night, and the sound of the rainy night always pulled me back to that unforgettable night, full of guilt and regret, surging in my heart over and over again. Later, I packed my bags, left the hometown where I grew up, and went to a strange city to make a living. This book is a semi-autobiographical story by the author. I wrote this book because I was really tortured by nightmares and couldn't bear it anymore, so I wanted to write down and speak out.
