Dual Doctors + Secret Marriage + Younger Man with a Fatherly Streak + Marriage First, Love Later + Face-Slapping and Eating His Words

They say Haicheng Hospital has two oddities: Sheng Zhi, the “Demon” of neurosurgery, and Rong Yan, the “Iceberg” of orthopedics.

They’re like two kings who never cross paths. Whenever they meet, sparks fly as if their scalpels are clashing.

The hospital director tries to set them up.

Rong Yan glances up coldly. “No blind dates. I won’t date someone from neurosurgery who stares into a microscope all day. She’d find fault with everything in daily life too. I can’t handle that.”

Sheng Zhi kicks the office door open. “Funny, I won’t date someone from orthopedics either. They’re always scraping and sucking the marrow out of bones. Disgusting.”

The whole hospital waits to see when these two geniuses will take each other out.

Then one night, in the pouring rain...

Someone spots Dr. Rong Yan, who is aloof, restrained, and unsociable at the hospital, his eyes red as he corners Sheng Zhi in a shabby rental unit on the back street.

As he rubs her swollen calf and fusses over her, he coaxes her in an almost pleading voice:

“Zhi Zhi, don’t be mad. I’m on the night shift today, and I made your favorite soup. Won’t you have a sip?”

Sheng Zhi: Hmph. Who was it that said I was always finding fault earlier?

Rong Yan, practiced at kneeling on the keyboard: ...I was blind.
