I Was Reincarnated as a Death Row Inmate, and Now I Solve Cases at the Dali Temple

Xie Zhiheng, a modern forensic trace examiner, transmigrates into the Great Yong dynasty and wakes up as a condemned prisoner due to be executed in three days. The county magistrate's daughter has been found dead in a locked bridal chamber. Six witnesses saw him break in with a knife, and every piece of evidence proves he is the murderer. But after one look at the body, Xie Zhiheng notices water in the victim's lungs, river sand hidden in the soles of her shoes, and lividity in all the wrong places. She did not die in the bridal chamber. To survive, Xie Zhiheng must overturn the wrongful conviction within three days. He later joins forces with Xiao Jiming, a junior minister at the Court of Judicial Review, and together they solve a string of bizarre cases: a haunted canal boat, the dead returning home, a headless top scholar, and a hundred people confessing to the same crime. Yet every few cases, the same blank black sheet of paper appears on a victim's body. Someone is staging murders, and someone else is making sure the truth never happened.
