Spirit Summoning: All My Spirit Attendants Are Problem Girls

The ley lines have collapsed, and ghost fiends roam unchecked. Humanity huddles inside fortress cities, and only Soul Tamers can use soul pacts to command spirit attendants and venture beyond the walls to fight for their lives against the netherworld.

Jiang Lin had transmigrated ten years ago and was so poor that all he could afford was a sheet-metal shack. At last, his System awakened.

The System announced: "Congratulations, Host. You have received your first pact opportunity. Target: an ancient-grade fiendish spirit."

He trembled with excitement, his mind filled with images of three-headed, six-armed Netherworld war gods and world-ending evil gods blotting out the sky.

But when the light faded, a girl stood before him, with waist-length gray hair and a black spear in her hand. Her blood-red eyes were cold as ice, and the first words she spoke were:

"You have a soul seed. Make a pact with me, or die."

Jiang Lin: ???

Other people made pacts with spirit attendants and looked imposing, like they had a guardian deity at their side wherever they went.

Jiang Lin's daily life, on the other hand, involved:

Massaging Blood Moon's shoulders to raise her resonance, rummaging through trash heaps in the middle of the night to scrape together money, and getting asked by the System every day, "Would you like to add cat ears to your spirit attendant?"

Until one day, a bloodthirsty ghost fiend cornered him at the city gate.

Jiang Lin turned and ran in terror, but behind him came the sound of a black spear scraping along the ground.

The next moment, the entire street was consumed by bloodfire.

Jiang Lin finally realized that the fiendish spirit he had made a pact with really was ancient-grade.

But... why was this starting to feel more and more like raising a troubled girl?!
