A scarlet-orange fog blankets the globe, and a zombie outbreak erupts overnight.
The once-prosperous city of Linjiang falls completely. Millions of zombies roam the streets, people turn one after another, and society collapses!
Chu He, a freshman at Linjiang University, is one of the very few among millions who are immune. In the depths of despair, he awakens an all-purpose card ability!
Core crystals become the only hard currency in the apocalypse.
Draw weapons, abilities, life-saving trump cards, heaven-defying opportunities… Anything can be turned into a card!
Even more bizarrely, the apocalypse produces the only mutant zombie who retains full human reason: Number Zero.
It doesn't care about human feelings, only equivalent exchange.
Information, high-tier supplies, the movements of zombie hordes: as long as you have enough core crystals, it can trade you anything!
The military's Rock Fortress Base holds out in the besieged city, the fanatical New God Society sacrifices the living, predatory gangs slaughter entire households, and high-tier Zombie Kings occupy the city center, watching for an opportunity.
Humans slaughter one another, zombies steadily consume the survivors, and everyone believes this is an apocalyptic catastrophe.
Slowly, the whole world uncovers the truth:
This zombie outbreak was never a disaster.
It is merely a harvesting game in which a higher civilization called the [Gardeners] sifts through lower civilizations!
Blue Star is just their 1,248th experimental plot.
