Title: The Timid Cross-Dresser Secretly Rules the Court

Su Jin, an economics graduate student, woke up in the body of a new top scholar who had disguised herself as a man.

The original owner had bought a fake household registration and infiltrated the court to save her imprisoned father. She ended up getting herself killed, and Su Jin took her place.

Su Jin: Wouldn’t it be better to make money and run? Who in their right mind would want to stay in court?

Unfortunately, Regent Xiao Heng had taken a liking to her abilities.

“Three months. Raise a million taels. If you can’t, bring me your head.”

Su Jin: ...Fine. Making money was her specialty.

She surveyed farmland, overhauled commercial taxes, opened up trade markets, and stabilized grain prices. With a series of reforms, the treasury filled up, the people praised her, and the whole court called her a genius.

But the more famous she became, the more trouble she attracted.

The gentle, refined top scholar Shen Zhiyan started looking at her differently. One night, he blocked her doorway. “My fiancée, how much longer are you going to keep this from me?”

The Grand Princess went even further and named her as her husband-to-be. On their wedding night, Su Jin trembled. “Your Highness, please let me explain...”

Worst of all was Regent Xiao Heng, the living king of hell who killed without blinking. His gaze grew more dangerous by the day.

Until one day, her identity was exposed.

Xiao Heng cornered her against the wall, fingertips brushing her neck as he murmured in a husky voice:

“Su Huaijin? No, I should call you Su Jin. You’ve deceived me for so long. Tell me, how should I punish you?”

Su Jin: ...I should have run much farther.
