From Diaper Days to Wedding Veil

Su Nian’an and Lin Yushen had been together since they were toddlers.

He was the boy next door, her guardian angel growing up, the “big brother” who handed her bricks when she got into fights, covered for her when she skipped class, and made her brown sugar water during her period.

She thought this was how things would be for the rest of their lives: she’d cling to him forever as his “little sister.”

Until one day, he cornered her at the entrance to an alley, his eyes brimming with a darkness she’d never seen before.

“Su Nian’an, are you stupid? I’ve been in love with you for eighteen years, and you call me your brother?”

Later, the whole internet was swooning over this childhood-sweetheart couple.

Someone spotted them holding hands on the street, posted a picture online, and it went viral.

The comments flooded in:

“Does the government assign childhood sweethearts like this? Is it too late to knock on the neighbor’s door?”

Lin Yushen replied from an alt account: “Too late. I’ve already taken the door off the hinges.”
