Wandering Between Yin and Yang, Obsession Returns to the Void

Wang Feng died. He died in a hospital bed, with no one by his side. He thought he would drink Meng Po’s soup, cross the Bridge of Helplessness, and forget all the regrets of his life. But one sentence from the King of Hell shattered his last hope.

“Your attachment is too strong. You cannot be reincarnated.”

And so Wang Feng became the most awkward presence in the underworld. He could not be reborn or reincarnated, and could only wander the dark streets of the ghost city.

The other ghosts shunned him, the underworld officers berated him, and old acquaintances mocked him.

Worse still, if he could not let go of his attachment, he would eventually dissipate, and even the last traces of his existence would vanish completely.

Just when he thought all he could do was wait to disappear, Wang Feng stumbled upon a secret. His soul could travel between the worlds of the living and the dead. He could return to the human world, but not stay for long.

Then one day, the King of Hell and the Judge found him and made him an offer. “Wang Feng, complete ten assignments for the underworld, and I’ll give you one chance to live again.”

“But remember, you won’t be reincarnated. You’ll be going back.”

“Back into the body you had just before you died.”

“But remember, you won’t be reincarnated. You’ll be going back.”

“Back into the body you had just before you died, and making choices different from the ones you made in your previous life.”

Wang Feng agreed.

And so he became the strangest “underworld agent” in the history of the afterlife.

This time, it wasn’t for reincarnation.

It was for the people he had missed, the days he had let slip away, and the person he used to be, who never even got to say goodbye.
