Delivery boy Zhou Ye is cornered by collection calls, hospital deposits and rent.
That night, a white snake made up of debt text messages and bill payment slips entered his dream. He gets a black accounting pen: as long as he finds evidence, he can cross out a "debt that shouldn't exist" in his dream.
The next day, in reality, the amount owed was actually 300 less.
But every time he writes, Zhou Ye loses something - taste, body temperature, memory, or time that can never be made up.
From riders trapped in car rental contracts, to patients driven crazy by medical installments; from "high-risk" people on collection lists, to debt ghosts deliberately raised by someone... Zhou Ye began to understand: someone is turning the fears of the poor into a business.
There is nothing wrong with paying off debt.
But no one can force anyone to repay a debt that should not be owed.
