By the end of the 21st century, human technology has advanced enormously. Cloning and space travel are no longer dreams, but realities. At the same time, many scientists continue their tireless search for the secrets and truth of humanity's origins. By examining and comparing many ancient civilizations, scientists Elizabeth Shaw (played by Noomi Rapace) and Charlie Holloway (played by Logan Marshall-Green) discover that humanity may have been created by aliens from a distant star system.
